Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often about international shipping with Portex Georgia. Can't find what you need? Get in touch and we'll help.

Which countries do you ship to and from?

Portex Georgia handles international freight between Georgia and destinations worldwide, with strong lanes from China, Turkey, and Europe. We arrange sea, air, road, and rail freight to and from Poti, Batumi, and Tbilisi.

Do you handle full containers (FCL) and shared containers (LCL)?

Yes. We offer both full-container-load (FCL) for larger shipments and less-than-container-load (LCL) groupage, where you share space and pay only for the volume you use - ideal for smaller cargo.

How long does shipping take?

Transit times depend on the route and mode. As a guide: sea freight from China takes about 30-45 days, road freight from Turkey about 2-5 days, and from Europe about 7-14 days. We give you a realistic estimate with every quote.

Do you provide customs clearance?

Yes. We offer licensed customs brokerage for both import and export, clearing your cargo at Georgian borders and ports so it moves without delays.

Can you deliver door to door?

Yes. We can manage the entire journey from your supplier's door to your warehouse anywhere in Georgia, including the final delivery leg.

Is my cargo insured?

We can arrange cargo insurance on request to protect your goods against loss or damage in transit. Just ask us to include it in your quote.

How do I get a quote?

Send us the details of your shipment - origin, destination, cargo type, and approximate weight or volume - through our contact form, and we'll respond within one business day with a tailored offer.

Can I track my shipment?

Yes. Every customer gets access to live container tracking through our portal, so you can see your cargo's status and location at every stage.

What information do you need to prepare a quote?

Ideally the pickup and delivery locations, the type and quantity of goods, weight and dimensions (or container size), and your preferred Incoterms. The more detail you share, the more accurate the quote.

What types of cargo do you handle?

We move general cargo, palletized goods, machinery, refrigerated and perishable goods, and oversized or project cargo. If you're unsure whether we can handle your shipment, just ask.
