Sea freight to and from Georgia
Full and shared container shipping through the ports of Poti and Batumi, with customs clearance and delivery to your door.
Portex Georgia books ocean freight with major shipping lines such as Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, Evergreen, COSCO and ZIM. We handle the booking, documents, arrival at Poti or Batumi, Georgian customs clearance and trucking to your warehouse. Our own office in Poti follows the cargo at the port.
What we handle
Full containers (FCL)
20ft, 40ft and high-cube containers for one shipper, port-to-port or door-to-door.
Shared containers (LCL)
Smaller commercial shipments consolidated with other cargo, so you pay only for the space you use.
Reefer and special equipment
Temperature-controlled, open-top and flat-rack containers for cargo that needs them.
Port handling and delivery

Common questions
Which Georgian ports do you use?
Mostly Poti, where we have an office, and Batumi. The choice depends on the shipping line and the final destination of the cargo.
What is the difference between FCL and LCL?
With FCL you book a whole container for your cargo. With LCL your goods share a container with other shippers. LCL suits smaller volumes; FCL is usually cheaper once you fill most of a container.
Can you also clear customs?
Yes. We prepare the declaration and clear the cargo at the port or at a customs terminal in Tbilisi, then deliver it to your address.
